The Pentax  50mm 1.4  were very famous of its own coating technology back in the 1960s.  It is contrast and warmer than other Japanese lens at the time.  Folks love them for their price and flare resistance.  Another good thing about Pentax lens is Bokeh.  Very creamy and soft.

In my opinion,  the Pentax 50mm is as sharp as  the other famous 50mm lens.   Thanks to their Super Multi-coated technology with 7 layers of coating,  all except leica had follow their lead and produced many nice vintage lens which I still use today.
